Main Parts of a Self-Aligning Return Idler

1. Return Idler Rollers
   • Support the return side of the conveyor belt.
   • Usually one, two (V-type), or three rollers depending on the design.
2. Self-Aligning Bracket (Swivel Frame)
   • Holds the idler rollers.
   • Mounted on a central pivot so it can rotate slightly.
   • Automatically steers the belt back to the center when belt misalignment occurs.
3. Center Pivot Pin/Bearing
   • Allows the bracket to swivel.
   • Provides the self-aligning action.
4. Base Frame
   • Bolts to the conveyor stringers or structure.
   • Supports the rotating bracket.
5. Guide/Friction Rollers (on some designs)
   • Help improve belt tracking.
   • Used in friction-type self-aligning idlers.
